Reservoirs

Once the water has been purified at the water treatment plant it is pumped out to smaller storage tanks and towers called reservoirs.

The water is then ready to be distributed to individual houses and factories through underground pipes called water mains.

Normally these reservoirs are situated on hills to create a higher water pressure and they are big enough to store water so that everybody in town can use water at the same time to wash

The water then flows down to houses, shops, factories and farms.
